This year the Barcelona Boat Show celebrates a milestone, the 60th edition of the most relevant boat show in southern Europe, and a global benchmark. without a doubt. This year it has the largest floating exhibition in recent years, also with more than 220 exhibitors with the market's leading brands and more than 700 boats, of which almost thirty catamarans, the type of boat that is most booming in the market, with waiting lists that can reach two years. With the 100,000 nautical qualifications issued this year, it is clear that nautical is a very attractive sector that continues to grow. Without forgetting the almost 5,000 boat registrations that have been carried out until August 2022, figures that have not been seen for years. A place where supply and demand meet at the same point, creating business opportunities among the 55,000 spectators expected this year.
In addition, the boat show will for the first time have a dock intended to bring together a total of 15 startups that will present their innovations applied to the world of navigation in the new Innovation Dock. Highlighting the Catalan Underwater Gardens International, which regenerates the seabed to create underwater landscapes; the Italian NL Comp, which has built a 25-foot-long competition sailboat with sustainable materials such as linen fibers and thermoplastic matrix compounds ; or the Swiss SwissOceanTech, which has launched its AnchorGuardian technology, which, through sensors, ensures the anchor is held when it is pulled offshore to anchor. After 60 years showing the latest developments and boats, the Barcelona Boat Show has fulfilled its objective, to promote and bring closer the practice of sports and recreational boating.
