Tieger, whose original name was Da-Du, was built for Mr. Olsen, who wanted to participate for Denmark in the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. Olsen entrusted the design and construction of the boat to the famous Norwegian engineer Bjarne Aas, who had made his name with his 6 m FI Elisabeth V which won the 1924 Olympics at Le Havre. But the Da-Du was not as successful as expected and Mr. Olsen sold the boat the following year, and shortly afterwards, in 1929, it passed into Italian hands. Since then, she has been sailing in the Italian waters and owned by prominent Italian sailors as Count Giuseppe della Gherardesca, or Mr. Alberto Zanoletti di Rozzano. The same year she arrived to Italy, she arrived second at the Coppa Genova behind Twins II, of the famous Oberti brothers, and again second at the Coppa Unione, behind the Dana, curiously enough owned by H.M. the King of Danemark. In 1962, she is purchased by her last owner, an Italian businessman who sailed her for 50 years, until his death in 2012. Now his heirs are selling her. She has been well kept in very original conditions and on a protected shead.
